NRT Digital Twin, as another core product of Yifang Wisdom, can be relied on by urban traffic managers, designers and traffic practitioners to build accurate digital traffic systems.

With the process of urbanization in China developing rapidly, the value of land in the city center continues to rise。Thus, there is a phenomenon that the residence area is on the periphery of the city and the working area tends to the center of the city, which leads to the tidal traffic characteristics of a large number of motor vehicles entering the city in the morning rush hour and a large number of motor vehicles leaving the city in the evening rush hour , and the distribution of traffic is extremely unbalanced.


Tidal Drive

Tidal lanes refer to opening tidal lanes to conditioned roads according to different conditions of morning and evening rush traffic flow, and adjusting the number of lanes through the directional change of lane lights, controlling the direction of the main road lanes.


To implement the tidal lane setup, it is mainly divided into three steps:

1  Reconstruct road facilities and remove existing central dividers .

 2   Re-setting of signage and traffic lights to guide and direct vehicles into the tidal lane.

 3   Traffic control of vehicles entering and exiting the tidal lane to ensure safe driving of vehicles.

It is used to address the challenges of monitoring, evaluation, surveying, forecasting, planning, management, testing, and verification in real-world transportation systems. Today we bring a case of NRT Digital Twin in tidal lane simulation.



The placement of tidal lanes can improve the traffic capacity of major traffic directions. Reducing the level of vehicle delays so as to maximize the utilization of crossing traffic capacity is important for improving road traffic capacity and reducing traffic congestion, and can fully tap and utilize existing urban road resources with lower capital investment.



Automated monitoring of data

Based on the NRT digital Twin platform, a 3D simulation environment is built, and data such as urban road networks, traffic flow, signal lights and other data are imported to run simulations. The platform detector automatically monitors the data, compares the use of tidal lanes before and after, and with "data" as the fundamental, the improvement of road traffic is presented in a more intuitive way.
